How many days till i leave?
Ok, there are officially 213 days until I move out. I can't wait. Can't can't can't can't can't can't. College is going to be SOOOO much fun. No parents for a 7 hour radius, classes only twice a week, roommates, parties, etc. Everything is going to be fun. My dad has been driving me crazy these past few weeks. I mean, more than usual...it's quite impressive. So recently he's been yelling at me to "be responsible" (those words should be murdered) for my own transportation to work. Well, since my car was taken away and given to Jon, I can't exactly drive that. He won't let me borrow his car if there's any minute chance he'll be going out, and my mom won't let me touch hers. There's no bus in Port Matilda, so public transportation's out. How, then, am I supposed to get to work? It was their idea for me to get a job in the first place... Quite illogical, I think.

    brrrrrr-ness!
Ok, it is seriously SO cold outside. I am really really glad I don't live in the old days before heat. How did those people stand it? I would like dig a hole and kill myself in it if I had to live outside all winter. Honestly, I feel like my nose is going to fall off everytime I step outside. Then I'd be like that guy we learned about in physics this morning. He didn't have a nose (like Cathy from the comics). So anyway, he had this like fake silver nose and a fancy gold one for special occasions. My question is: how did he sneeze? did his nose go flying off when he did? could he smell anything? how was this nose thing attached anyway? like those weird glasses with the moustaches? My oh my, life's many questions...

Ok, Mr. White told me today that I should keep track of all of the ridiculously awesome things we've done in physics. Why me? Well, probably because most of these things are my idea...
    1. Dropping pumpkins/cantaloupes off the roof. (Zoloft...)
    2. Ambushing Ricker's class with silly string, then spending the next week in a fierce water war. Imagine us trying to wire the doorknob with a generator. If only it had worked...
    3. Drawing hand turkeys on the windows. And an outline of half of Ben Woika.
    4. Being entertained by some freakishly realistic Beevis and Butthead impressions by White.
    5. We tried to bring in a greased pig, but it didn't quite happen. Something about health and safety codes...
    6. Today, Mr. White hid and waited for Big R to come up the steps by the room, the jumped out and scared the hell out of him.
    More to come, I'm sure...

Today was good. I got to bask in NFC championship victory glory, especially since the Steelers lost. I guess I kinda wished that there would be an all-PA Super Bowl. Plus, it would've been nice to crush Pittsburgh after that game earlier in the season. Oh well.

Rest of the day was pretty regular. I LOVE othello...makes me want to read more Shakespeare (never thought I'd say those words...). Wrote a new piece in theory, did a botany lab. I really need to kick this senioritis and start studying for my final on Thursday. Right...

    VICTORY!
Boy, let me tell you, if I knew how to write in green on this thing, I'd be doing it now. The eagles have officially won the NFC championship game, and are headed to the Super Bowl in two weeks. YES YES YES! This is the fourth year in a row that the Eagles have made it to the championship game, and they finally won. It was so awesome, i can't even describe it. At the end, they interviewed all of the players and McNabb was crying and Dawkins was running around the field like a little kid. It was seriously the best feeling in the whole world.

    Blizzard!!!
Well it's snowing like crazy outside, and of course it's Saturday. Why these huge storms never seem to hit on a school day is beyond my grasp. Especially this year since I don't have to make up snow days. Oh well, it's nice to at least get snow at all if it's this cold. This year has been kinda tough because it's been FREEZING but we really haven't had much snow. Maybe I'll go sledding later...but for now I have stuff to do.

Got to write a crazy scholarship essay. See, I thought all of my essay/application pain would end when I got into Williams, but I was SO wrong. Now I have all these scholarships to apply for, and I'm feeling the pressure since Williams is $40K a year. I mean, my parents are going to pay for it, but I really want to be able to help them out as much as I can. Forty grand a year is SO much money... One of the scholarships I'm applying for is from Wal-Mart. It would seriously be funny if I got some money from them seeing as I absolutely hate Wal-Mart and refuse to buy anything there. But hey, if they want to help fund my college education, I won't complain.

Danielle came over last night, and we watched Animal House. What a freakin great movie.

    Pity pity pity party
Today was the day of the pity party. Danielle and I had a glorious one in botany when Nick was away counting stomata. I really needed one, let me tell you. But now everything is better. I made my famous triple chocolate brownies, and everybody knows that baking solves EVERYTHING. At least if you're me. I think I'm going to make the freakin perfect housewife. Any time I get upset or stressed or mad or worried or feel any sort of emotion in general, I either bake or clean. Wow. Maybe I should've been born in the 50's or something.

Wednesday is my all time favorite day of the whole entire week. Wednesday = double botany = no music theory = a very happy Jesse. Except today was a fat day, so that put a bit of a damper on the festivities. It's ok though, because I did my usual run and an extra 200 crunches and felt mucho mejor.

Well, time to go. Not much homework, but there are brownies to ice.

    Freedom!
Ok I'm really terrible at updating this. Sorry. It's kind of bad how I say I'm going to write stuff every day once every two weeks, then never ever do it. Talk about a lack of will power. Let's see, what else am I bad at? I'll make a list. Feel free to add to it in the comments...
    Soccer
    Fake laughing
    Staying awake in english
    Whistling in tune
Pet sitting...just guess how many pets I've accidentally killed/lost...
    Computer stuff
    Directions
    Physics

Oh wait, that reminds me. I have to finish my physics test tomorrow during double lab. ICK. COnsidering the fact that it's open book, I should be able to do ok on it. Note the SHOULD. Yeah, the first half was freakin impossible. I couldn't do it even with the textbook in front of me. Wow I'm so pitiful in that class. Oh well. It's not like my grades matter at all now. I love being accepted and bound and all. It's really quite nice...

Um hooray for inservice days! There is nothing better than knowing that it's Monday and turning off your alarm and sleeping til 11. NOTHING! Spent most of the day laying around rejoicing in having the house to myself. Around 3 i started the weekend's homework load, freaked out over scholarship stuff, cleaned my room, and then made dinner. Now I'm tired and I think I might just go to bed instead of studying for physics. It's not like I'm going to pass anyway, so I might as well look decent tomorrow...

    Oh yeah, and GO EAGLES!!!!

    Jet laaaaaag
Well, I am officially 18 as of Monday. (Don't tell Benji...he kinda freaked me out by asking when i became legal...) My parents got me plenty of presents and made a wonderful cake. The annual birthday dinner is still in the planning, but we'll get there. Lucky me, I got to spend my birthday in San Diego instead of in State College. It rained the whole time we were there, but it was still really fun. The conference went pretty well, with the exception of this crazy guy who harassed us and made Sarah cry. It's ok though, he had a really ugly hawaiian shirt on and his chest hair was sticking out. No worries.
We got to go to the zooooooo (totally awesome!) and shopping and all around the city. I missed the aquarium, but the boys got me a crazy pen there for my birthday. Thanks guys! The restaurants were good once we settled on one. Took some time, but they were well worth it.
I was SO dead today. It felt like I was waking up at like 3:30 pacific time to go to school. I kinda sat in most of my classes in a daze. Perhaps I'll go to bed soon... must do my night work first...

    Been a while
Wow it has been SO long since I've updated this thing. Sorry about that... Marching band is fiiiinally over, which makes me among the many, many seniors who are thrilled to be done. Forever. Also, all the college stress is gone now because I got my letter back from Williams and I'm in. Which means that all I have to do for the rest of the year is get decent grades so they don't revoke my admission. Which is awesome. Let's see, what else? I'm going to San Diego on Friday to present our Montana paper, and that ought to be a blast. How much money should I bring? Leave a comment and let me know. Hopefully it won't rain there...I would be kind of mad.

School today was SO boring. I thought I was going to die. I seriously almost fell asleep in like every class. Goodness... Hopefully tomorrow will be a little better. So after school, I went to go take my health tests, and the guy left the wrong ones, which sucked. I had to sit and wait for an hour for my mom to come back. Arg. And I would complain about not having my car anymore, but one of my New Year's resolutions was to not complain about that. So I'll just say barf and leave it at that.

    No, I didn't die
Well, it's been forever since i've updated this thing. And, as you can all get from the title of the entry, no, I did NOT die. (College applications have come close to killing me, but that's another story) I got a good old-fashioned beating when my parents found and read this journal, but is that goign to stop me? Well, ok, it did for a while, but I think i'm ok now. :)

Marching band is officially over (praised be the Lord!) since our glorious team lost in the first round of the playoffs. I am so happy. You have no idea. Unless you're in marching band. Then you know exactly how i feel.

Barf on homework. Particularly barf on that damn writings paper. Who knew i'd have to spend my sunday in pattee reading US censuses (is that even a word?!) from like 1920. Good lord. I think i'm going to have to make some long distance phone calls too to finish my research, which is going to cost money. Bah, i think i should protest.

Well, I got into good old PSU this weekend. Hooray, my life is complete. Actually, it's a pretty big relief. Now at least I know I'm going to go to college. Now if only i can get myself out of this hell hole, i mean my house...

What a seriously good day. Woke up around 9, finished my book by 10 (reading in bed is my biggest luxury...), downed some breakfast, and started my english literary analysis essay. The story we read was really really confusing, but I think I wrote a pretty decent essay. Took a break in the middle of the essay to hit the Y. Things went pretty well there, except there was this guy on the treadmill next to me who kept making noise. It was like he was having an orgasm or something. Kinda hard to run while some old dude is orgasming beside you... Came home just in time for the Eagles game. Man, it was SUCH a good game. The eagles started out strong, then kind of fell apart in the middle and fell behind, came back and took the lead, only to have the Browns tie it at the end. So it went into overtime, and, of course, the Eagles pulled off the win. Fabuloso. My dad and I were thrilled. After the game, I went shopping with my mom and got a coat and jeans and stuff. Had dinner, started my Stanford essay, chilled out, and cleaned my room. It was so messy, it was really getting on my nerves. Much better now. I really need to stop being such a total neat freak because what if my roommate's messy? Ug I'd throw a really big fit. Except I'd never tell her. But it would still bother me. Hmm...need to work on that...

Ok, so I THOUGHT i eventually wanted to have kids...maybe not...
I don't think I'm going to be able to babysit for a while. Today was serious overkill in the little kids department. I babysat for 11 freaking hours today. Holy mother of God. The Heims got this new dog, and it's a complete spaz. It was like biting the kids and freaking out all over the place. Oh my. Plus, it slobbered allll over my leg. Now, I really love animals, but EW! The kids were kinda crabby today because they just got back from Disney world last night, and they didn't get to bed until after midnight. Paige seriously didn't even wake up until 11, so that made things easier. Mac took a really long nap, too, which was nice. Oh, and note to future self: potty train kids as early as possible. Changing diapers can be really nasty business. As if I wasn't miserable enough spending my Saturday with toddlers, Mac accidentally (i think...) poked me REALLY hard in the face with one of his toys. There's seriously a mark on my cheek. Honestly, after like 5 or 6 hours or so, I had no idea what to do with the kids. I was SO bored. If I see another barbie any time soon, I just might tear it apart. Today really made me never want to have kids, because that's what my day would be like EVERY SINGLE DAY.
Got minimal homework done today. Botany labs and last week's spanish hw are now complete. Tomorrow is essay day. (Ug) Perhaps I'll go to the Y to avoid essay writing in general...
Oh, and GO SOX! (eat that, Yankees)
Oh, and I hate marching band. Especially because of the stupid PSU homecoming parade yesterday. God, if there's anything I hate more than marching band, it's marching a parade. My arm STILL hurts...

    Who gives a hoodinky?
Oh yes, the wonder that is Mrs. Knight. Only she could coin a phrase like "who gives a hoodinky?" Botany is officially my absolute favorite class. I mean, come on. I like everyone in that class, and Mrs. Knight is the BEST. So I failed my physics test today. Joy. I seriously left like half the problems unfinished. Spanish was SOOOOO dull today. I hate it when Webber puts like a crazy confusing map on the board and then talks in spanish and makes us take notes and craziness. Picked the laptop up from Doc today, and ended up getting a nice update on the paper status and being stuffed with Mrs. Arnold's famous chocolate chip cookies (not soft, but still good...) Had to ride the bus home, and was thoroughly pissed off by all the freshmen. Seriously, they all sat in their own seats, while the juniors and seniors had to sit together in the freaking first two seats of the bus. What's wrong with that picture? I'm going to have to beat some freshman ass... Skipped the pep band thing at the field hockey game, slacked at home instead and made some dinner and did absolutely nothing. :)

    Hooray for bagel day!
Oh bagel day! My new favorite day of the week is Tuesday (sorry Wednesday, you've been bumped...) because it's breakfast day in physics. Today was (duh!) BAGEL DAY!! And there's really nothing in the morning like a good sesame bagel. Ben Woika and I went down to the cafeteria to buy cream cheese (and, of course, to miss some physics), and the lunch lady gave us the freakin weirdest look when we asked for 11 packages. Hmmm...I don't even LIKE cream cheese. Anyway, the bagels were awesome, and I joined Malika, Elaine, Rahul, and Austin for the lab. Elaine did all the work, while I made "team unity" bracelets out of wire. Hooray. Our job was to set up a rocket engine, strapped down to a board and connected to this force measurer-thingmajig. Yeah so at the end of the period, we weren't quite done, so I went to tell Katie and Dan to go to band without me, but they decided to come with me (yay!). We went back to physics to try to shoot the rocket out the window, but it didn't work. :( At least we were all late to band (hooray for no chromatic warm up today...i HATE the chromatic warm up) Band was...hmmm...well, yes. Sarah and I were TERRIBLE on our solos in the stupid Korean song. We seriously like disgraced all oboes everywhere. We came up with this plan, though, to get Chris to have to take concert band again. We should bribe him with the solos....sneaky...

The rest of the day was kinda dull. Skipped theory to catch the VP debate (Geusic dominated, go Dems!) I helped Dan with his math hw (hmmm i miss math). English was dull. What's new?

Slacked a bit this afternoon, got some college stuff done, watched Gilmore Girls, made dinner, etc. Better get going on that wonderful stuff called tarea. At least we postponed the physics test till Thursday.... Oh, and by the way, the concussion seems to have finally lifted. Clear thought is penetrating my brain...it's a miracle!

P.S. Made up with Cory, everything is glorious again. :)

Ug. Ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug ug! Ug. Today was quite a crappy day. Danielle and I need to have another pity party, which brings our count up to two in the last week. As soon as my dad gets off the phone, I'm going to call her so we can commence. My brain has been SO mixed up since the whole concussion thing started. I seriously can't focus on schoolwork or even say what I mean and stuff. Freaky. So that sucks, and I'm getting sick of it. I got a low B on my botany lab test, which sucks too. I made really dumb mistakes, and that always makes me mad. Plus I had kind of a fight with Cory. Barf. Usually when I'm really pissy, I go for a run or a drive. Sadly, I'm not allowed to do either at the moment. At least my parents aren't letting me go to marching band tonight. There's nothing to cap off a crappy day like two hours of marching around in the rain in like 35 degree weather. Hooray, my dad's off the phone, so it's time to wallow in pity. Joy...

    Hmmm
Well I honestly can't remember the last time I updated this thing. I've been neglecting it, that's for sure. Since I can't remember where I left off, I'll start again with Friday. Got a B on my college essay in english. I really hate my teacher...she makes these comments that don't make any sense and makes everybody feel inferior and stuff. The biggest problem is that she's really nice in class, so we can't actually hate her for anything. Things were easier in York's class, although I don't miss that one bit. (Hooray for China or Africa or wherever the hell York is, as long as it's not State College) We had a football game on Friday (Homecoming). The show wasn't too bad, and Christie Cannon won homecoming queen, which made me happy (even though I think Caitlin Bailey is SO nice...) So for postgame, we all smush into the endzone, and then Caleb blows the whistle and everyone runs to their places and yells some word, which varies everyweek. Of course, being the sweet people that they are, the other bass drummers decided to make the word "concussion" in honor of me. Wonderful. There were trombones and flutes and all sorts of madness all yelling concussion. Again, wonderful.
Saturday was kind of busy. I slept in, then went downtown with my mom to get my hair cut (because I can't drive and all...:( )Then my rank came over to make costumes for the Halloween parade, which was quite an experience. My parents got to meet the wonder of Timmy. Oh my. So we made Jesus into a tower, and for about 45 minutes, he was trapped inside a bunch of boxes with no arm holes and just his face sticking out. Yes, he was completely at our mercy (I threatened him with makeup, and Rob just kind of left him for like 10 minutes to take a snack break...) Timmy was strange (who would've thought?), and he's like freakishly excited about dressing up as a princess. Be afraid.
Today was kind of dull. The Eagles won! Hooray. My mom and I cooked for a while, and then I did some homework. My parents are still freaking out about the whole concussion thing because my head still hurts. The doctor said it would take a while for the headache to go away, but they're still spazzing. barf. At least I'm not quite so out of it as last week....

    Ow....
Hmmm remember my Monday entry, when I told you all about getting decked at frisbee? Remember me specifically saying that since I had no concussion or broken bones, so I had to be fine? Hmmm...I lied. My head hurt really badly Monday night, and it hurt all day Tuesday. When I got home from school and told my parents it still hurt and I couldn't focus all day, they freaked out and took me to the emergency room. Oh my. I spent like an hour there, and they told me I do indeed have a concussion. Again, oh my. It sucks. I can't drive or play sports or anything for a whole week. Plus, I'm completely out in the ozone and my head still hurts. Barf. At least my teachers were nice and gave me extensions on all my assignments and tests and stuff. Cory and Danielle and all my friends were really worried, but I'll be fine. My parents wouldn't let me march in the homecoming parade, which I guess is a good thing. I just really wish this damn headache would go away. It feels like my brain is just pushing on my skull...very weird. Anyway, I'd love to talk more, but I feel like my brain is going to ooze out my ear any second.

Hmmm I have made a major scientific breakthrough
I have determined during the first month of my senior year that senioritis IS indeed a good thing. You see, for the first three years of my high school experience, I was a good kid, and I worked really really hard in school. Ha! This year has been allllll about slacking off in terms of school work since I have bigger and better things to deal with (like the Williams application that's due in less than a month....yikes...). Anyway, so I haven't been trying all that hard in my classes, just enough to get by I guess. What's surprising, though, is the fact that my grades are higher than they've ever been in my whole freakin life. So the less I try, the better I do. What the fuck? Why didn't I figure this out LAST year when I was busting my ass in Lechnar's class and Chem II? I would've saved myself a ton of trouble.

Dan freaked me out SO bad today. I was sitting in physics, confused as usual, and I looked up and he was standing right outside the door making faces. Good Lord, I almost had a heart attack, so of course he laughed at me. I seriously almost fell off my chair...

Frisbee was fun today, but I got completely clobbered. I went up for the disc, and this guy decked me. My dad was like "don't you know how to take a hit?" when I told him. Ok, so I may not be the best at physics, but a 105 pound body in the air doesn't stand a chance against a chargin 185 pound body. Sorry, but no matter how you take that hit, you're going to go flying. Oh well...no concussion or broken bones, so I'm sure I'll be fine.

Guess what...I HATE MARCHING BAND. (That was for Nick, just because his journal consists of thoughts solely along those lines) It is seriously the stupidest thing in the whole world and I hate it. So there.

You know what I don't hate, though? Lots of stuff. Cory, Danielle, tennis, Katie and Dan (and ESPECIALLY the fact that they're going out...), my room, Prudence, and lots of other stuff. So don't think I'm all negative, because I'm really not. Nick thought I was last year, though, because the only time he ever saw me was in York's class, and I was perpetually pissed off there. (Who can blame me? She's an uberbitch) Haha, this year, Nick and I have classes other than english together, and he was surprised at how happy I usually am because all he'd ever seen of me was when I was pissed. But I promise I'm not mad or sad or negative all the time....:)

    Mmmmm....money...
Hooray! I FINALLY have money. Since I'm not really working right now, el dinero has been a little slim, but don't worry. I babysat last night and got rica again. It was a really good job, too, because I went there at 8, and the kids go to bed at 9. Plus, they just got the Aladdin DVD, so we watched that. Aladdin is seriously one of my favorite Disney movies, so I was perfectly happy. To make things even better, the kids were completely exhausted, so they went to bed without a fight. Talk about easy money...

Things are going pretty well. Danielle is awesome and I love her to pieces. Cory is awesome and I love him to pieces. Everyone is awesome and I love them to pieces.

I have a ton to do today, but it's ok. I wrote a lit. analysis essay on Skin by Roald Dahl. (Very disturbing story, especially since this is the guy who wrote Matilda...) Plus I studied some for botany because we have a test manana (ick) and I finished my PSU application. Yay! Got to practice still, and maybe go out for a run. Also, I have some physics and health and scholarship crap to do. barf. Eagles didn't play today...it's their bye week. Well, I'm just gonna close this with a nice quote by Mrs. Knight that I discovered in my botany notes: "You mate a cucumber and a watermelon, it's just not nice..." Wonderful...

    Ka-boom!
There is WAY too much to do. I think I am going to explode. People will be picking up my fingernails and pieces of my ears for miles around. What a lovely thought...
Friday was a pretty good day. We took notes in physics (yawn), but I surprisingly understood. It's a miracle. Band sucked, just because it was Concert band and I hate concert band. Plus, I missed Katie. :( Spanish was a waste of time, as usual. I think Webber really hates me, probably because I never say anything in her class. Oh well. The real joy came in botany because we watched this crazy movie called "Sexual Encounters of the Floral Kind." It was about these flowers that seduced bugs into having sex with them. Like this one orchid had a kind of dummy female fly this attached to it, and it secreted the scent that made male flies horny. So then this male fly mounts the fake female fly, and starts humping. Wait for it, wait for it...this is where it gets ingenious. So the fly is humping the flower, and it's like rocking back and forth and all, until its head hits this other part of the flower that's full of sticky pollen. Eventually, the fly gives up and flies to some other orchid to have some more interspecies sex, and spreads the pollen. CRAZY...As Jesus put it, the flowers were sort of having sex with each other, just the fly was the pimp. Wonderful.

We had a football game, which the team actually won (amazing!) It was probably our best show yet, but Lenaway got pissed at me because I didn't fail Rob. Who gives a damn if his pants were sticking out the bottom of his uniform? Not me...
